LENT is a time to open our hearts to the
breath of God,
“the One capable of turning our dust
into humanity”
PRAY – FAST- GIVE in Lenten Tenderness
Prayer - is the strength of the Christian and every person
who believes.
In the weakness and frailty of our lives we can turn to God with the confidence of children and enter into communion with him. We are called to pray in the face of many wounds that
hurt us and could harden our hearts. Praying gives us the ability to see God’s boundless love, and taste his tenderness.
FASTING
– involves choosing a sober lifestyle, in fact fasting prepares our hearts to share, to be aware and responsible in the face of injustice, abuse, especially to the poor and the little ones and it is a sign of trust we place in God and his providence.
Almsgiving – in almsgiving we give with no intention of receiving anything in return. We should be aware of having received everything from
God Gratuitiously, without any merit of our own. Almsgiving leads us to freedom from the obsession of possessing, from the fear of losing what we have, from the sadness of one who does not wish to share his wealth with the poor.
Giving in Tenderness is the love that is close and real, starting with your heart and reaches your eyes, ears and hands, to comfort others and to take care of those
in need. In this season of Lent we all need each other.
Lent is a new beginning a path leading to the certain goal of Easter,
Christ’s victory over death.
“Lent is the favourite season for renewing our encounter with Christ, living in his
Word, in the sacraments and in our neighbour.” Says Pope Francis
